Orion Zackariah uses vintage dies, tools and legacy machines to strike pieces that are built to last. Much of the tool and machines are over 120 years old. Fortunately they have been saved from being scrapped and the legacy and craftsmanship continues on.
Hubs - Driving a Lost Art
Hubs are the original master form of the jewelry to be made. Different special trades were used to ultimately strike jewelry. A hub cutter would carve a full size master by hand into tool steel. This had to be perfect as there was no way to correct mistakes. The steel would be hardened and then placed over another piece of steel. A massive drop hammer would drive the hun and the inverse of the design now becomes a die.

With the die now trued up in a stamping press, different metals can now be struck. Brass, Silver, Gold and even Platinum can all be run.
